Tennis Victory dance

Sometime ago, I wrote about my weekly tennis lessons, and my coach’s frustration at my abysmal performance. Until I found a miracle solution☺️🙏 Read about it here.
What I didn’t mention was that I managed to get the whole family into tennis. In fact so much so that they now love it more than me.

They wouldn’t miss a Saturday morning session for anything. And would drag me to the courts when I feel too tired to get out of bed on Saturday morning. Lol. My children have personal coaches but would always spend the last 20minutes of the lesson in a doubles session against their coaches.
And every time they win a game, they do a victory dance. It’s always such a sight to see two pseudo sad looking adult coaches watching the children run around the court cheering and clinking their rackets in a victorious high five.
Of course, the coaches do allow the children win, and I initially thought this was spoiling them. But last weekend, I took time to assess what was really going on.
It’s same every weekend… they ‘let’ the children win the first game then lose the second one and finally win the last one.
Now when they win, it boosts their morale, their confidence goes up and they literally feel unstoppable. The loss in the second game is to keep them on their toes so they don’t get lax, they keep putting in the effort, sustaining the momentum.

And the last win is to give them a success story. So they have bragging rights and can gist their parents and friends how they beat their coaches in the game. It helps them look forward to the next lesson.
Do you know what I am getting at? The Bid Team. These folks need to experience successful bids to be motivated to keep putting in the effort to submit quality bids. When they win some, they are motivated to keep winning. When they experience consecutive losses, they don’t want to try anymore, the zeal is lost.
It’s important to keep the Bid Team motivated by:
1. Not bidding for every opportunity, click here to read more
2. Equipping them with the right education for successful bids; enrol in one of our courses today!
3. Celebrating their successes to encourage more success.
